Definitely! I mean, someone—anyone, female or not—not enjoying one Rush song, or a particular “era” of their music, is totally subjective, so why say “wow, girls can’t get into Rush, oh well” when there are plenty who really love them? Like me! I love Rush. There isn’t a Rush song I don’t like. Alex Lifeson is my favourite guitarist. Wow, what a shocker! Please.

People who say girls don’t like Rush (or prog) just say that because they met some girl who they played La Villa Strangiato for and that girl was like, “wow, that was fucking ridiculous—too long, too noisy”, and so they’re like “wow chicks don’t like Rush”. I don’t know, I just don’t get it. I don’t get why any of us even have to discuss this, you know?

Like I said in my post about this, why is it even a thing to say girls don’t like Rush or prog rock? Why does it even matter? And again, how is something like Rush more appealing to one gender more than another? I mean, it depends on the girl I guess. Everyone is different, everyone likes different things. So yeah, there are girls who don’t like Rush. Who don’t like prog rock. But there are probably just as many who absolutely love it! Hell, there’s probably just as many guys who couldn’t give a fuck less about Rush.

When there’s a lot of love directed at something, then there must be a lot of hating, too.
